I know the show is barely a month old, but I need everyone to know about it immediately because I LOVED IT. Set 15 years after the events in Oliver Twist, the story follows Jack Dawkins in his new life as a surgeon before an encounter with someone from his past shakes everything up. And that is literally all I will say about the plot because I want you to experience it for yourself. Content warning: there was some medical gore, but in my opinion, nothing too grotesque that made me want to turn away.  I thought the plot was very engaging. I had seen the trailer and thought, if nothing else, maybe it would be good for a chuckle or two. Who doesn’t enjoy a dumb, lighthearted movie every once in a while, right? But wow, I was not prepared to laugh as much as I did, smile until my face hurt, and fall in love with the ridiculously catchy songs. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. This movie had no right to be this good, yet here we are. I will watch this again and again, and you better believe that soundtrack will be on repeat for the next month of my life. Well done, Netflix. Well. Done.

I don’t know if I’ve ever read a book that has left me in this state at its conclusion. I’m talking mind-blown, jaw on the floor, tears of every kind of emotion streaming down my face, completely speechless... just wow. This book is BEAUTIFUL. Written by a Zoologist, the imagery she paints about the marshlands of North Carolina and its natural inhabitants is breathtaking. The story, both a coming-of-age tale and a crime drama, is heart-wrenching and gripping until the very last page. Delia made me feel so deeply for the characters she created. ⭐ 9.0/10 (Originally written by kare) I’ll admit it. I judged this movie very harshly before ever watching it. It took me until now to watch it because I was so sure I was going to hate it that I had no desire to even give it a chance. Oops. Within the first 5 minutes, I was involuntarily grinning from ear to ear, and that continued until the credits. I genuinely loved it! Mena Massoud did an incredible job playing the charming street rat that most 90s-born girls had a crush on. And Will Smith as the genie had me laughing out loud. The Disney purist in me appreciated how much they stayed true to the original while still adding fresh ideas to expand upon the story and make it more exciting. I will absolutely be watching this one again! The lost point is for the lack of Brad Kane’s heart-melting singing voice, and that AWFUL reprise of Jasmine’s new song “Speechless”. I mean, what kind of nonsense was that?? Who approved that scene?! I just wanna talk.

⭐ 10.0/10 (Originally written by kare) I stumbled across this album by accident one day, and what a happy accident it was! I’ve enjoyed a couple of Ingrid’s songs in the past, but never listened to enough of them to consider myself a true fan of hers. Until now. This album is definitely in my top 5 favourites of all time, and she has earned the title of my favourite female artist.  If you can’t tell by the title, it’s an entire album of songs inspired by Stranger Things. As a big fan of the series, that piqued my interest right off the bat. I went in expecting a fun listen. I was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster I was about to embark on.
