This is standard issue Netflix slop. Jess chose it, and it was never going to really appeal to me, but honestly it was sweet enough to win over my calloused heart a bit. It's about an old grieving woman with nothing to live for, but then she runs into a down-on-his-luck rascal and finds meaning in mentoring him. It's wholesome, has a tidy ending, and I'll always appreciate an aging protagonist. Also it's filmed in Deep Cove. I've been there! That was cool to see.
It's not a masterpiece but it's good for a cozy evening at home.
