Alone (Season 4)
That said, the gimmick for this season didn't work. The pairs were forced to find each other through the bush, and while that might be a survival skill, it's not really what this show is about, and instead it eliminated half the teams before the survival element really started. There were multiple instances where people had to leave against their will for their partner and it was a bit of a bummer. Still, when the teams that made it were reunited, it made for some beautiful moments.
The teams were a mixed bag. It featured a couple, father & son duos, and brothers, with only one female contestant. There were tons of times, especially with brother combos, where the interactions were pretty annoying and tiring, though I can only imagine how aggravating the other person would seem when you're that hungry. On the other hand, there was one beautiful father and son relationship that often brought me close to tears, both of them super wholesome and supportive and easy to cheer for. There were lots of highlight moments this season, especially one shelter that was built, but overall the one team and their relationship totally made this season for me.
Great show. I'll probably take a short break from it but I loved watching this show as often as I could.
