Tombstone
⭐6/10
I do think there are some terrific performances here. Lots of familiar faces for westerns, and lots of guys who have played macho men often in the past. Kurt Russell is pretty good as the true alpha dog, but I really loved the performance of Val Kilmer who is a hot shot, but one who knows he will die any day from TB (reminiscent of another western legend).
Anyways, this movie pretty much goes exactly like you would think it does. For me, one of the silliest things in this movie is that the main character blatantly cheats on his wife, but they try to paint this as morally acceptable because his wife is addicted to opium. Immediately after the movie ends, a text comes up that says his wife died a year later due to overdose. Well I guess he's justified then! I actually think this movie would have been much better if they just allowed the main character to have moral complexity. He's basically Superman in this and it's pretty lame.
Anyways, not a great movie but there are a few good moments.
