Santa Clause
⭐7/10
Meh, sure, it's solid. I don't really have any strong opinions. It's okay for a Christmas movie, and I agree that there are a few elements that are a bit better as an adult. I'm not a huge fan of fellow Mennonite Tim Dick, and thought he wasn't super funny here. I think my favorite stuff was with the step day, and I thought it was cool to introduce a psychologist into a story like this. Pretty clever. And you know what else was cool? How many movies do we see where the mom sees what a loser she married and leaves the step dad for her first love? Too many! I'm glad that wasn't the case here because it sure seemed to be headed in that direction.
I also remember how incredibly cool I thought the elves were, like sexy Bernard or that really young elf with the jetpack that says "we're the good guys." Holy smokes I wanted to be him so bad... Anyways that part doesn't really hold up.
So there's some scattered thoughts about the average movie called the Santa Clause. A 6 but a Christmas 7.
