The Office BFFs - Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey
⭐8/10
These two are also pretty clearly not writers. That's not to say they aren't good storytellers, but there was a lot of "oh yeah, and Ed Helms? He is literally the nicest person you will ever meet. And Brian Bumgarner? SO funny!" They tell a lot of jokes that are kinda lame inside jokes that are clearly between them and the other cast members.
All that said, I still adored this book. I think my biggest takeaway was just how normal these two seem. They came into the show as total unknowns, so Jenna talks about struggling to pay bills, and having to leave an awards show early because she only wanted to pay for two hours of parking. They had insecurities coming in, and it's interesting to see what they struggled with, like Angela singing karaoke at Christmas, which for us was just this silly little moment.
I mentioned those lame inside jokes, but stuff like that was also sorta endearing, mostly because I love this show so much. They talk about the costars plenty so you get a good sense of what they are really like, though again this book is super inoffensive. But it also sounds like they really loved each other and that was cool to hear.
So yeah, just a really great book. This one REALLY feels like an extended podcast, and these two do already host a similar pod. I might listen one day, but I think this was a pretty good alternative. For people who are fans as much as I am, I think this book is perfect.
I had a fun time reading this too! I listened to the audiobook - did you as well?
