Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget

⭐ 7/10

A day after watching this movie, I was writing Weviews and could absolutely not remember what I had watched the day before. I had to eventually ask Jess and together it took us a few minutes to finally remember that this was our movie of choice. So that kinda tells you a lot of what you need to know!

This movie is actually not bad at all. It's got a very British sense of humor, and the claymation looks nice, but moreso makes you want to appreciate the movie because of how much work must go into this. Honestly, that's all I could think about half the time.

The premise, much like the first one, is incredibly dark despite the light tone. And rather than take place on a small countryside farm, the setting here is a meat processing factory. I actually thought this created a lot of issues, because from the perspective of chickens, this is a holocaust movie, but of course they still want to make jokes and also this is a kid's movie... To be fair, they used this to make some wildly dark jokes that made me laugh, but I dunno, it just didn't all seem to fit together.

But this movie is fine. It's smart, it looks nice, there are a few laughs to be had. However, it felt forgettable while watching, and then of course it was wiped from my brain instantly.
