Revisiting this show and my goodness is it ever hilarious. Its about a dorky guy living in Palo Alto working for the Google equivalent who starts his own company and battles the big tech world for a chance at making the world better with his algorithm. Its a comedy and its on HBO, so the jokes are very crude and the language very colourful. Part of what makes it such a treat is how realistically it portrays that world, and seeing exterior shots of places I have been is always fun. But the actors are all great as dorky coders, each dorky in their own way, and Jess can confirm that you don't need to be a coder to laugh at this.

I love Thomas Middleditch as the lead, but the star is Zach Woods, aka Gabe from the office. He's basically the exact same character, but is so kind hearted and wholesome in a cutthroat world. He gets so many hilarious jokes, I just love this guy so much.

The season finale has a legendary scene that is this show's legacy, super crude mixture of dirty humour leading to a technological breakthrough. I can't imagine how hard the writers and actors would have been laughing for that scene, its so outrageous.

I love this satirical take on how goofy the tech world is, and I think it holds up really well 9 years later when that world feels completely different.
