There was so much hype around this book last year, but John Green said he loved it so I believed him that it was good. It's about Sam and Sadie, who have had a complicated friendship for decades, who work together to make video games. Told non-linearly, they meet, become estranged, meet again, become successful, struggle... The writing was superb, just that next-level skill that I can't define, but I knew I'd love it right away. It was witty and deep and wise and really captured the human experience. And I don't even care that much about video games, but it gave me a deeper appreciation for them.
