The Blue Castle - LM Montgomery

I'm giving this book a 10 because I can't think of a single way it could be improved. And also because the reading experience was ideal (reading it aloud with my favourite sisters). It's a fun, somewhat silly, overall delightful story about a 29-year-old "old maid" in vaguely early 1900s Canada who is miserable living her dull, uninteresting life with her overbearing family, and then discovers she will die within a year and decides to live it to the fullest. It's not at all depressing (don't worry!) and incredibly endearing. The characters all had so much personality, and LM Montgomery has such a fun, clever writing style that really shone. And it gives a very lovely outlook on life! I think I'll be thinking about it for a while.
