Lost in the Moment and Found - Seanan McGuire

⭐ 8.5/10

(Originally written by Magdalene)

Book #8 of the Wayward Children series, and a really strong addition to the series while also being completely fine as a standalone. Antsy is a happy girl who loses a lot when her beloved father dies and her creepy stepfather moves in. To escape she goes through a door that ends up being the place where lost things go. There she can access doors to other worlds to find treasure, but maybe there's a cost she doesn't know about. Really lovely thematically, exploring the things children lose when they are forced to grow up too fast. I loved the expansion on how the Doors work too, even though Antsy's world itself could've used a bit more explaining.
