The Space Between Worlds - Micaiah Johnson
⭐ 9.0/10

Cara is a Traveler, someone who journeys to parallel worlds to gather information. But Travelers can only go to worlds where their parallel selves have died, and luckily her other selves seem to have died a lot. But it turns out Cara might not be who we think she is, and her employers might be lying about what her purpose is.
This is a book where you think you know what it's about, but the plot just gets deeper and deeper as you learn more about this future and semi-dystopian world. I don't always like books about the multiverse, but this one handled it in a way that made sense to me, and that asked deep questions about privilege and nature vs. nurture. High-concept sci-fi that I thought the author pulled off really well.
