The Boys (Season 2)

A definite step up, this season we spend a lot more time with the super heroes and it really pays off. Homelander is just so so villainous, and pairing him with a new villain really raises the stakes.
I still think the episodes are way too long. All the time we spend with the "The Boys" is always kind of boring to me, especially since the corporate involvement and political storylines are so engaging. There is a lot this season that feels ripped from the headlines, and honestly I like their spin on it. They also up their game in terms of head explosions, and it just makes me roll my eyes now. We get it, you guys have a huge budget and can try to shock us every episode.
I am intrigued with where this show is headed, and I love seeing Homelander go off the deep end, although part of me wonders why he doesn't just snap and kill literally everyone. Speaking of deep, The Deep's redemption arc is actually hilarious and I love the path this character has been on. The way it plays with super hero tropes often makes me laugh, and I love seeing fake movies/commercials/reality shows and all the things that would totally exist if this was a real world.
