mainstream sellout - Machine Gun Kelly

⭐ 7.5/10

His previous album which was his first pop punk album was incredible and one of my most listened to albums from 2020. He tries to mimic that here and just doesn’t land as well.

The music isn’t bad, but there are a few cringe songs and lyrics that make me like it less. I just never find myself coming back to this album, even after a decent amount of listens.

I think he’s somewhat self aware? But that also makes him a bit insufferable if I’m being honest. He wants to be woke and know what the people say about him but it isn’t done well.

His collabs with Lil Wayne were a pleasant surprise, and his best songs are with other collaborators. Ay! Make Up Sex, and Maybe are my favourite tracks.
