Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

⭐ 7.5/10

About halfway through this movie my sister leans over and tells me they replaced Grindelwald with a new actor; so just a little indication of how closely I was following these movies. That being said, Mads probably made the character about a million times better. I’m not a Johnny Depp hater but I never ever liked him in this role. Mads is intimidating and foreboding and the kind of person that makes you wanna commit crimes!

I had such low expectations for this one that I actually liked it quite a bit. Eddie Redmayne is really likeable. He’s quirky and awkward but also charming. Jude Law actually makes a great young Dumbledore and the new characters introduced were great! But if you stuck a gun to my head and asked me to tell you their names tell my mama I love her.

One thing they get right in these movies are the beasts. A lot of really cool, unique creatures. Also, a few good magic battles but I really wish they would utilize special effects more. We can send people to Mars but can’t get a drawn out magical battle?!
