Atlanta - Season Two
⭐ 9.5/10

This season takes the weirdness to the next level, and is an unexpected delight every episode. Its hard to explain what makes this show so special, and I have watched a couple video essays on what Donald Glover is doing here and I think its pretty special. I came across the term afro-surrealism and it is spot on, describes exactly what this show is doing.
This season has the subtitle "Robbin' Season", and it captures a feeling of desperation in society that leads to people doing wild stuff. Also, this show came out in 2018, and feels super relevant despite the chasm of experiences we have had since then. It features a couple more bottle episodes, and they are all my favourites, from Teddy Perkins to Fubu. A lesser show would be completely consumed in the rat race of trying to become a successful rapper, but this is no ordinary show and it goes whatever direction it wants.
Season three has started and I can't wait to dive in.
