The Tragedy of Macbeth

This is a telling of Macbeth by Joel Coen, starring Frances McDormand and Denzel Washington, so of course I had to see it. I can't say I love Shakespeare, but I did work the stage crew in my grade 8 production of this show so you could say I appreciate it. Actually though, this was also the Shakespeare I studied in high school, so some amount of depth really helped me out, and I like the story.

This is a straight telling of the story, word for word, so it is very easy to get lost. Thankfully I had some favourite lines that I remember, and the plot is easy to follow, so I was able to enjoy it. It is filmed in black and white, and it looks amazing. It is also a cool 1 hour 40 minutes, which I respect and admire, as it helps keep the pace up for something that could get bogged down.

Not sure what else to say about this. If you like Macbeth, this movie will be a treat. The woman who plays the witch crushes it, which is saying a lot, that she is as memorable as the two leads.
