British humor, am I right guys? Lots of "clever" jokes but then the movie ends you you realize you never actually laughed at any of them.
This movie is pretty good though. A pretty typical cop comedy premise, but it still felt new and fresh because of Edgar Wright's unique filmmaking techniques with all these snappy cuts. I feel like I'd call it more entertaining than funny, and I tend to look back on his movies more favorably in time. These movies really do make me wonder how much time and energy goes into making these cuts that last a literal split second.
It really is a smart movie with every small detail coming back and paying off by the end. The premise is perfectly ridiculous, and the absolute gruesome violence is so shocking and over the top that it killed me every time. This movie is good, but yeah, can't say I actually found it all that funny.
