This is a documentary about a professional climber who free solos El Capitan’s 900 metres (thats 3,000 feet)! At Yosemite national park. Quite literally insane to try and man oh man was it great and stressful to watch.

I felt VERY different at the beginning of this than I did by the end. In the beginning I was like, oh I love that humans are like this! Just wanna do crazy things and have unattainable goals and ambitions. So great! And then as the doc progresses and you hear more about what drives him and the people this affects and all that, I was like you’re a selfish prick!

I do think he was somewhat selfish but they do a great job of really fleshing out this guy and his reasons. I think a cool aspect of this documentary was the community. People have such niche interests sometimes but you’ll always find people to do it with. His girlfriend was sweet and precious and more times than not I was hoping she would ditch him. I don’t think he was good at relationships but they got married and are now expecting.

If you want to watch something that will have your palms sweaty the whole 1:45 and if you want to scream at your tv would highly recommend.
