Detroit: Become Human

I'm just blasting through games these days. That's seasonal depression for you I guess. I started and finished this game in two days, and never once felt like I wanted or needed a break. I also cried in the first scene, but that might just speak to my mental state. Anyway, I've never played a game with such incredible graphics before. Maggie mentioned that when she wandered by, she thought I was watching a movie. It's all incredibly animated and voice acted, and I was super invested. It basically follows 3 different androids in slightly-future Detroit as an android revolution sweeps through the city--one leading the revolution, one trying to flee to Canada, and another a police android tasked with stopping "deviant" androids. I was invested in all three stories and was never disappointed when I switched from one to another.

I know the creator of this game is a known trashbag but I really did love playing this. There are literally hundreds of choices you can make that will change how things go, which is really stressful but really cool. There's a lot of replay value because of that, but I'm not that kinda gal, so I ended up looking stuff up a lot near the end so that I'd get the ending I wanted. That was totally just my choice though.

I know there was a lot of discourse about this game when it came out, but thankfully I'm stupid and ignorant so I didn't have to think about that. I thought it was fun and I love robots. Also when they looked across the river at Windsor I got really excited. The fact that they never mentioned it by name was blatant Windsor erasure.
