A Holiday by Gaslight - Mimi Matthews

You know when a book is labeled a "proper romance" it's gonna be good. This novella follows Sophie Appersett, a lady with a title but no dowry, and her developing romance with Edward Sharpe, a tradesman with money but no experience in the upper class. It's simple, it's predictable, and it's full of meaningful looks and fleeting touches. Everything a girl could want! It's also a Christmas story, so it was seasonally appropriate. I really enjoyed it, even though personally I could have done a better job 😌 I also didn't know how many words I didn't know how to pronounce until I read this book out loud.
