Midnight Mass

I watched this show because it was really popular in Twitter, but then kinda realized it wasn't my thing. It's a dark horror where a innocent enough priest comes to town, and things start to get weird when there are some supernatural occurences. I got about half way, but I find these horror types to always be a bit cheesy. It was a bunch of b-list actors, and the writing was just a bit lame. Y'all are trying too hard! Always trying to go for maximum emotional impact without laying the ground work. Kinda feels like a hallmark horror show if that makes sense.
I got about half way, but then my best friend Bruxy told me that the end makes it worth it. He was right! It still felt like they were all trying too hard, but man those last two episodes are craaaazy, mostly in a good way. Definitely made the watch worthwhile.
Otherwise, this show definitely touches on some interesting things. Lots of cool religious and theological ideas about the nature of faith and love and death. Couple of somewhat interesting character arcs. All in all, it's pretty good. It just didn't feel like a truly great show. It's the kind of show where the old, homeless local is just a normal, good looking guy but with a beard. I'm kinda picky about these weird things, but if you're into this kind of dark, creepy horror show I'm sure you'd love it.
