Date Night

⭐ 6.5/10

A comedy I had never seen before, it starts off really well and slowly gets less funny and more boring. This seems to be a trend in a lot of comedies, where all of a sudden the concept takes over and they need to pull together the plot and the last 30 minutes just aren't funny.

Lots of talented people in this one, and some genuinely hilarious moments. But they lean on some jokes way too much, repeating them until they are no longer funny. The whole mob storyline also gets way too involved, and they make a pretty good effort to explain it in a funny way, but that should be a sign that the movie is getting too convoluted.

Steve Carell and Tina Fey really are hilarious though, and it had me contemplating watching the office again...

Shout out to Gal Gadot for having the smallest and most forgettable role, and having now become the most famous person in the movie. Respect.
