Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You - Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi

⭐ 10.0/10

(Originally written by Magdalene)

This is the rewritten version of Kendi's super long and more academic book about racism, adapted by a novelist for a YA audience. It was not very hard for me to decide which one to listen to on audio.

This book is about the evolution of racist ideas against Black people in America, starting in about the 1600s. He focuses on the people, books, movies, etc. that gave birth to racist ideas or propagated them. It's written in a very accessible way, and was really quite enjoyable to listen to. It doesn't go super in depth on any one topic, since it's more of an overview, but I found it was the right amount of information. Perfect for teens and adults with short attention spans.
