Six of Crows - Leigh Bardugo

⭐ 9.5/10

Was really excited to read this after watching Shadow & Bone recently, because my favourite part of the show were the Crows and I LOVE a heist. And it didn't disappoint. I loved a lot of things about this story: the morally grey characters, the backstories, the impossible capers, the action. Sometimes it was a little gratuitously bloody/graphic, but I appreciated that it didn't try to soften or romanticize crime or what it takes to be in a gang. My biggest gripe was the age of the characters, which just seemed absurd. They're ALL 15-17??? You've gotta be kidding me. You could have changed NOTHING except made them 5-10 years older and it would have solved how ridiculous it felt. Your mid-20s is still young to be a gang leader! 17 is just laughable.

Other than that, I really enjoyed reading it, and I'm already looking forward to the next one, though I probably won't bother with the other books in the 'verse. I'm just here for the HEISTS.
