Girls Save the World in this One - Ash Parsons

⭐ 8.0/10

(Originally written by Magdalene)

Three best friends are finally able to go to ZombieCon, which they've been looking forward to for months, so they can geek out about zombies and meet the actors from their favourite zombie show. Just one problem - the zombie apocalypse actually starts in the convention center while they're there.

This is one of the few zombie-related pieces of media that is actually more light-hearted in tone than serious. Bad things are definitely happening, and not everybody will survive, but somehow it still manages not to take itself seriously. It reads more like an action book than a horror book. There's the zombies-are-everywhere aspect, but the three girls are also dealing with friendship drama, SATs, and crushes. I loved June and her friends, how kick-ass they were, and how supportive of each other. It was a bit silly, but fast-paced and fun.
