I have very vivid memories of the first time I saw this movie, and I will never forget that night, but I was pleased to see that this movie is still a masterpiece when viewed from home. It follows a native maid who is a housekeeper in Mexico City, and it is really beautiful. There are aspects of it that are super artsy and I will probably never understand, but the black and white, the long takes, even it not being in English all makes it unforgettable.

There are a few set pieces that are particularly breathtaking, and by the end of the movie I felt a level of love and connection to someone I have no right to feel a bond to. My own well-being felt connected to hers, and every time she undergoes any amount of pain it feels suffocating. It really is a special film.

Not sure what else there is to say, an amazing lead performance from someone that had basically never acted before, and it is written and directed by a guy who won the Oscar for best director twice last decade. A must watch!
