I don't think I have all that much to say that hasn't been said. Really beautiful, heart-wrenching story about a kid dealing with addiction and a father coping. As much as it pains me to say it, I think this was a pretty good performance by Chalamet as I felt he got a lot of stuff right here, encompassing much of what I've witnessed in terms of people struggling what his character is going through.

I really have nothing bad to say, though for whatever reason I just felt this movie was lacking a certain something that left it short of being an incredible emotional experience for me. Perhaps it was that this movie seemed to be going for tears at every turn, and maybe it made me resent it or something. One minor criticism I have is that this movie failed to potray the issues of poverty that typically surround addiction and further complicate things. Chalamet's character was always able to instantly get into top tier rehab centres and always had a home to go back to which is basically a best case scenario. But the movie is based on a true story, so I can't complain about it being "unrealistic," but I guess it just felt a little inauthentic because this movie leaves out the majority of stories who don't get happy endings simply because most don't have the resources (not that this one necessarily has a happy ending).

Anyways, I guess I did have a lot to say... This is still an awesome, emotional movie and is one of the best to take in this topic.
