The White Tiger

I’d say this movie is about a class war. A low caste young man who’s fate seems to be sealed as a poor tea maker convinces his granny to let him get his license so he can drive for rich people to make more money to send home to his family. Our main character is super loveable and hardworking so he obviously gets hired and that’s when realization dawns on him about how poor he is and how rich other people are and do nothing to help people.

This movie was awesome. It was compelling, emotional, funny, but also philosophical. It especially struck a chord with me because I have been to many of these places and seen a lot of what was shown in the movie.

It was heartbreaking to see the both the cycle of poverty enacted in this movie and the cycle of corruption from riches. Indian life is so incredibly complex and I think they did a great job showing that.
