All Thirteen - Christina Soontornvat

⭐ 9.5/10

I'm a huge fan of survival stories, and back in 2018 I was giving Maggie updates every few hours on the progress at that Thai cave where the boys soccer team was trapped. So I was eager to read this book when Maggie snagged it at the library. Even though I felt like I knew pretty much what happened, I was GRIPPED. I was on the edge of my seat with anxiety, even though I knew for a fact all the boys made it out alive. It was such an interesting story, and there were so many things I didn't know and that weren't in the news. I love the spotlight on lesser-known players in the whole thing, and the way the storytelling was vibrant without feeling exaggerated in any way. I was telling Maggie that two things really stood out to me in this story: the incredible human desire to help people, and the amazing ingenuity shown by humanity. I teared up SEVERAL times. Sometimes people are so good!!
