The Mandalorian (Season 2)

⭐ 7.5/10

I'm pretty torn on this show. I should like it, since it's a Star Wars show that sticks to its roots and gets a lot of the Star Wars stuff right. But I don't find it too exciting, maybe because it's a kid's show, and I don't feel like there are ever any actual stakes here. I feel like half the excitement for this show is for the cameos and fan service that don't do too much for me. I hate the episodic formula, though fortunately they went away from it late. Mando is a pretty flat character in my opinion, even though he went through a bit of a contrived arc, and I really wish we could have a season of him without his helmet to breathe some life into this guy.

LBY is the ultimate floor raiser of television as his presence alone deserves a decent score. There were some great elements to be sure, and as a whole I still liked this show. But there is still something missing for me.
