SteamWorld Dig 2

⭐ 8.5/10

This was an excellent follow-up that improved on the first one in basically every way.

The best parts:

  1. Exploring the mines is just plenty of fun
  2. The game feels a bit like a platformer at times, but it's designed so you never get stuck at a hard part that you have to try a hundred times over (looking at you Ori)
  3. Love the art style, which always increases my enjoyment of a game a lot

The only real downside is it was still pretty short - I think I spent 9 hours until I finished the storyline, at which point I didn't care to continue exploring just to find the remaining secrets. I think I only paid like $7 for it so I got way more than my money's worth, but it's hard to give a game 9+ stars when it's this short.
