This game mostly consists of a narrative, where you play the role of Edith Finch herself as she navigates the story. It's very story-based, and it's about Edith going back to the home where she grew up to explore and find out how all the other members of her family died, going back several generations. It's not so much a game as it is a way to experience a story.

I thought the idea was very cool, and the story was a little creepy and quite compelling. The visuals were cool, the voice cast was great, and I liked that for each mini story your task was different, almost like a mini game. There's not really any challenge involved, though, as the game tells you pretty clearly what you need to do next, so you just follow the story. I also didn't find the ending completely satisfactory, since I wanted to learn more about her family and felt like not everything was explained. But it was a great experience.
