Menno Moto - Cameron Dueck

Fascinating (to me) read on one Mennonite's trip from Manitoba to the Southern tip of Argentina, with him stopping at many Mennonite colonies of all kinds along the way.
My parents were born in a Mexican colony (and I visited there once when I was twelve or so), and I've been to Belize where Anita's parents spent a good portion of their lives on a colony, so I have some personal connection to some of the places the author went.
It was just really interesting to see the author experience those colonies for the first time and to follow as he tried to understand their way of life and why they choose to live that way. He mostly tries to be pretty unbiased, but he is an outsider so it's pretty easy to be critical from that viewpoint.
One of the author's main questions is to wonder why Mennonites are always running, and whether the continual process of moving to start all over with a new colony ever did lead to what they hoped for in the first place. And it's an interesting question!
If the general topic is of interest, you'll enjoy the book.
