Dark (Season 2)

⭐ 9.0/10

The first season ended on a huge cliffhanger, and this season did not disappoint in picking up where things left off. If the first season was complicated, this season takes it to an entirely different level. We are seeing time travel in different timelines now, and while it it is easier to follow since I am more familiar with the characters, there are enough mind bending twists to keep you on your toes.

I think this show is genius. So well thought out and mapped, this season you can really feel the knot pulling into place. One episode stood out as the emotional centerpiece, but the rest were all compelling.

It's impossible to explain this show, but it's about time travel and the apocalypse. You get the classics, people trying to change the past to change the present or the future, but it is pretty nuanced. I just love the way they make everything fit together, and even when things get super confusing I trust that they have it all figured out.

I probably said something similar in my first review, but it really feels like Lost on steroids, but way way way more gritty. I love it.

And just like last season, the finale ends with a crazy cliffhanger that had me in disbelief. The third season is going to go all out.
