Born a Crime - Trevor Noah

⭐ 9.0/10

This is a collection of essays that are loosely tied together about Trevor Noah growing up in South Africa during and after Apartheid. I've heard quite a bit about Trevor Noah, but have somehow avoided actually reading or watching anything by him until now.

This book was great though! Some of his stories are funny and light-hearted, and some are difficult to read (e.g when recounting some serious childhood trauma). All of them do a great job of portraying the unique South African culture and how it changed so much over such a short period of time.
