Tweet Cute - Emma Lord

This is a YA rom-com, and it did a very good job of being that. Pepper's mom owns a chain burger restaurant, and always gets Pepper to run the Twitter account because she's so good at snark, even though she's busy trying to get into an Ivy League school. But then she gets in a Twitter war with a local restaurant that goes viral, and finds out the boy on the other end is her thorn-in-her-side class clown classmate. They agree to continue with their Twitter battle and get closer as they do.

This book was a hoot, and I thought the relationship was done well. I liked both of the leads, and thought their relationship was believable, as they slowly got to know each other, become friends, and then more. They both had their own other issues to deal with - having a cooler twin, grades, pressure from parents - and it felt realistic that these teens were juggling so much. Also the way their phones and social media was such a huge part of their lives was very realistic too. It always bugs me when contemporary books pretend like phones barely exist.

Overall it was very charming, funny, and sweet, and just what I was in the mood for. Not overly dramatic and no attempts at being anything other than a fun time.
