The Skeleton Twins

⭐ 9.0/10

In some ways this was a difficult movie to watch, a story about adult twin siblings both dealing with difficult pasts, disappointment, depression, and suicidal thoughts, but it was also really beautiful and funny and real, and I loved that it wasn't just gratuitous suffering. The characters all made some pretty bad decisions and were obviously not doing well overall, but I was still rooting for them the entire time. And it portrayed sibling relationships REALLY well, better than I see in almost all media (not including Schitt's Creek, of course). Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig are amazing together (I know they worked on SNL together for a long time) and they have the chemistry that this movie needed. Overall, heart-wrenching but moving and with the hopeful ending I needed.
