An amazing season of TV. I remember really liking this show in University and it holds up well, still one of the funniest shows I have seen. The clever jokes come quickly, and it has many running gags and meta jokes.
Love the way they use episodes to explore other genres, like the paintball Western, and all the movie and tv references that inspire each episode, like the Goodfellas chicken episode, the Good Will Hunting plumbing episode, the Dead Poets Society film class episode, the list goes on. The creators of this show clearly love tv and cinema, and use it to inspire creative episodes that pay homage instead of just completely copying things.
There is one aspect of the show that doesn't hold up well at all, and that's the out-of-touch old character who constantly makes gay jokes. It is really never funny, and although I think it's supposed to enforce that he is stuck in the past it's super awkward.
Aside from this I honestly might say it's my favourite comedy ever. The cast is absolutely star studded, along with many celebrity cameos, the Russo brothers directing, and the composer of The Mandalorian doing the score. A cult classic that hopefully one day is just a classic.
