X-Men

⭐ 8.5/10

Between this, Tobey Maguire Spiderman and the Dark Knight trilogy, the early 2000s were truly the golden age of superhero movies. Along with those, I appreciate that this movie is willing to take itself seriously once in a while and comment on meaningful themes. Also, this movie is just solid with an incredible cast working in an awesome universe. It loses a bit for me because I've already seen it so many times and this late night rewatch wasn't especially impactful, but it sure was a great reminder of how badass characters like Ian McKellen Magneto and Patrick Stewart Xavier are.
