The Glass Castle - Jeanette Walls

A really wild memoir about a crazy family. Really enjoyed this read. A deep look into family dynamics that are very different from mine.
A few things I really like about this book:
- She never wrote in a way that made her sound bitter or resentful towards her parents. It genuinely seemed like she was just trying to tell the story as best as she could.
- I kinda liked her parents (when they weren’t a**holes). They really stuck to their guns and had such an interesting philosophy. If Rex Walls hadn’t been a deadbeat drunk I bet we would’ve read about him in our history books. I also appreciated their lens on life when they were in NYC, and how they survived. Mind you, this is all coming from a huge distaste for the parents thinking they were completely unfit to be parents and the kids should’ve been taken away.
- The siblings relationships was so endearing. Was so warmed by how they looked out for each other.
A quick, fast paced read that I finished within 24 hours.
