Sherwood by Meagan Spooner

⭐ 6.5/10

(Originally written by Magdalene)

A gender-swapped retelling of Robin Hood, where Robin dies (😦) and Marian gets caught up pretending to be him and helping the people in his place. Super cool concept, not great execution, which was especially disappointing because I loved her other book, Hunted.

I was really invested for much of the book, but then it got convoluted, and I hated the romance. It just felt messy and unnecessarily long in the end.
