I, Robot - Isaac Asimov

⭐ 8.0/10

This book was a bit conflicting for me. First, it blew my mind that Asimov was able to write futuristic science-fiction in the 1940's that got so much right about robots and technology. I think everybody would find this interesting, and more people should read it - his exploration of logic, robots, and artificial intelligence is more relevant than ever given how tech has advanced.

At the same time, I'm a software developer. My primary life skill is thinking logically and I read about artificial intelligence for fun, and this made it a bit hard to read the book because there were so many things that just didn't make sense to me. Asimov can be forgiven, obviously, for not seeing perfectly into the future 80 years. And yet, I still found myself regularly taken out of the narrative by pieces that were so wrong.
