Deadwood (Season 2)

⭐ 9.0/10

(Originally written by Tim)

I watched this season over the course of around 4 months, and even with such long breaks between episodes every one put me right back in the world. The people of Deadwood are unsavoury to say the least, and the town reflects its inhabitants, but watching them scheme, monologue and maneuver to try and stake their claim in the rapidly changing colony is a unique TV watching experience. Seriously, their dialogue is like nothing else I have heard, with profanities I could never have dreamed up and moments of humour from unexpected sources. All of the plotting results in many explosive moments, often violent, but always leaving me more emotionally connected to these people than I would have thought possible.
