Girl wants nothing more than to be a fighter pilot in the defence force, and gets her chance. I couldn't put this book down - it reminded me a lot of Ender's Game with the kids (teenagers in this case) going through flight school and learning to fight, and the general fear of unknown aliens. Some really interesting turns at the end, and I immediately put the sequel (which was just released) on hold at the library. It is a bit young adult-ish, so just go in expecting that.
